Open Question: Monkey Island 2 on HTC Hero (G2 Touch)?

I've downloaded Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge, and ScummVM software to run it, onto my HTC Hero (G2 Touch) phone. I can get as far as the copy protection screen (where you choose the random recipe ingredients), but since the phone's keypad is touchscreen, and the game takes up the whole screen, there's no way I can see to enter numbers. Is there a way to bypass the copy protection, or a way to enter numbers that I've missed? Thanks in advance!
