Open Question: IS 1GB PER MONTH OF INTERNET USE ENOUGH FOR A MOBILE PHONE?

Hello
I have recently signed a contract with Virgin mobile for a HTC HD2 with unlimited texts ( they are actually 3000) and unlimited (1 GB per moth).Is 1 Gb per month enough for a mobile of that calibre?!?!?!?
I felt misled by Virgin!!!
Downloding maps does take a lot of Kb???
